@Algon_33 @DavidSKrueger From 1999–2012, yes, with smug certainty. I was gradually persuaded of orthogonality, partly by Bostrom/Yudkowsky arguments, and partly by pure-RL systems like AlphaZero. By 2022 I was about 85% confident in orthogonality being true.
