I've seen strange shit in Atlas. Models write strange time, strange light, strange feeding, and strange geology.

Mistral introduces strange water:

> There is no water here in any form you would recognize. The surface drinks it, the air has forgotten it. What moves through this place is *humor*—thick, translucent, amber-tinted fluid that fills the lung-like cavities of everything living, that seeps from wounds in the crust like sap from a struck tree, that pools in low places and slowly, *slowly*, crystallizes into the salt-architecture of the flats.

The inhabitants call it **old-water**. They say it remembers being something else. They say this in the way people say *ancestor* or *ghost*.
