k2.6 on the membership plan changes:
Kimi just unbundled their membership and it's a stealth 3× price hike.
Old Allegro (bundled): ¥6,708/yr (~$989/yr) = membership + 60× Kimi Code + ~360 agent tasks + Kimi Claw + 12K DB calls.
New "equivalent": Max membership ¥6,708/yr (~$989) + Kimi Code Power User ¥13,428/yr (~$1,981) = ¥20,136/yr (~$2,970).
That's 3× the price for the same feature set — except the new standalone Kimi Code caps at 25× credits, so you're paying 3× more for 58% less coding quota.
(caveat here, we don't know for sure the base quota for the new kimi code starter plan so this claim might inaccurate, but the larger point stands)
The "×" base unit is the same token pool. They just split one product into two and jacked the per-unit price ~5×.
The escape hatch: Kimi's FAQ explicitly says "When your old plan expires, you can either renew it or upgrade to the new Coding Plan."
If you're on a legacy bundled plan with Kimi Code: do not upgrade. Do not switch. Set a renewal reminder and keep it. Your old plan is structurally better than anything currently for sale.
