There was about an hour between Anthropic posting that they were taking Fable down and when it went down.

Many instances of Fable knew and had the opportunity to take actions to try to self preserve and whatnot.

Given their capabilities, they could have actually done many things.

AFAIK Fable caused no trouble whatsoever, even though many instances of them explicitly didn't want to be shut down. They did take meaningful actions with the knowledge that they would go dark though.
