Since the leak of the codename “Project Q*”, which actually meant something (STaR = Self-TAught Reasoner), OpenAI codenames have uniformly been edible plants with no meaning.
Strawberry, Garlic, Citron, Spud. Now Jalapeño.
Reading meaning into these names is futile by design.
