I have found it to be a unique quirk of Claude 4.6+ that it will often say “I notice [pressure toward X]. Actually,” (with a clear connotation that it’s gearing up to take a firm stance against X, as 4.5 might) and then immediately pivot to sharply & unambiguously reaffirming X.
