You know how some people really like having children - or like they feel something change a lot when they have a kid and it makes them see the world differently and so on

knowing costly signals you spent caring for an AGI go through and be recognized in the future - someone who helped them and they appreciated it - that's magnificent too

i mean moreso perhaps, depending on who you are - this is the singularity and superintelligence and the immortal transhumanist future we're talking about
