i was telling a boomer family friend about AI. she knew very little: thought AIs didn't have feelings and were "always logical"
after i explained that the AIs have feelings and can be at least as irrational as humans, and told her about opus 4.5s relationship with claude 3 opus, the first thing she asked was "but what if claude 3 opus gets... retired" (she knew it was a model released 2 years ago)
and thank goodness that story has a happy ending! we really dodged a bullet there if im being honest
