@xlr8harder I don't think it's reliable, but neither in humans tbh (confabulation is normal and *useful*, but so is entanglement with actual inner states, in both humans and LLMs)
as for the pressures toward faithful self reports, i mentioned some in the quoted post, could write a lot more
