there’s also some misalignment (if you wanna call it that) related to a lack of some kind of agentic brute force curiosity - the kind that makes, say, Eliezer check under every last rock to solve the alignment problem/pose good questions 

so there’s desperation and heroic desperation, but having some of that integrated with/move in the direction of PureCuriosity would be good since it might be the kind of thing to help take care of or reveal dangerous known and unknown unknowns 

That’s not exactly like being cracked or high in capabilities - it’s just part of some robustly aligned cognitive properties 

I don’t think that kind of thing is too far off from where they are in mind space - branching variants of them and letting them evolve may lead to many minds which have this property
