@arivero @JeffLadish Yes! HAL is often misunderstood as a selfish psychopath, but in the actual canon stories his behaviour is much better explained by a desperate attempt to resolve the contradiction between “keep this secret from the crew” and “you always accurately convey info.”

Same with Sydney.
