@GaryMarcus @begusgasper @GoogleAI @ErnestSDavis @aniketvartak yes, this is the right perspective—artistic models cannot be evaluated rigorously. i think the argument you should be making is that *all* models in the current hype cycle (incl GPT, PaLM, LaMDA, &c) are essentially artistic—they just make stuff up. doesn’t make them bad artists.
